Theresa and Jerome are Californians by heart, but when they met, they were both NYC dwellers. After meeting in the Big Apple, and then falling in love, Jerome proposed to Theresa on Valentine’s Day by the fountain in Lincoln Center. They had plans to move to sunny San Diego, and that is where they were to be married! While most of their family is also not from the Golden State, relatives were flying into Southern California from all across the country. They wanted their wedding to be simple, but FUN. It was also a very personal and DIY event. Since Jerome is an AMAZING pastry chef, he made the cake himself!! Theresa’s own brother was the officiant, and a friend of hers from NYC designed her wedding dress. (It is killer, huh!?) The venue of choice was a perfect backdrop of beautiful San Diego. The Martin Johnson House is an intimate venue that sits on top of a cliff just overlooking the Scripps Pier and La Jolla Shores. Weather was on our side as the sun blazed down upon us and the waves below. Both Theresa and Jerome are such a great couple. Even after a disaster in their apartment a week prior to the wedding (the fire alarm set off the water sprinklers, flooding their place!), they were able to look on the brighter side and realize that they still had each other and no serious damage to their wedding day plans. I had SO much fun at their wedding. Their friends and family were a bunch of characters and the food was AMAZING. I wish upon you many years of happiness together!
