While Nina was getting ready for her big day, she pointed out to me all of the background story of her bridal details and they were so adorably personal and to the heart, just like how she views her and Dan’s relationship. The pearl necklace she was wearing was a gift from her great-great grandfather to her great-grandmother when she was 16. The perfume she was going to wear had not been worn yet, so that every time that she wears it from now on, she will be reminded of her wedding day. The pearl earrings were a gift from Dan from their first trip to Hawaii together. They were all pieces of a puzzle that would complete their wedding day. She also described how her and Dan met:
“Dan and I first met through a mutual friend at a party 9 years ago. We didn’t see each other again for three years but had still heard about each other through friends every now and again. We ended up lived in the same town only a few miles away from each other and even shopped at the same grocery store but never ran into each other. Then one weekend about 4 years later we were both in Tahoe visiting the same mutual friend from all those years ago. We hung out the whole weekend and every day after that. For the proposal, we were camping in Northern California for the weekend and Dan suggested we go to the beach so I could collect shells and watch the sunset. While I was looking for shells, Dan placed a beautiful mother of pearl ring box on the sand. I found the box and turned around to see down on one knee. I was so excited I forgot to say yes! We sat on a huge drift wood log and watch the sunset. It was the best day ever…”
Nina and Dan are not from Southern California, but packed up their bags together to move down to the warm weather and to start a new adventure. Almost all of their wedding guest list traveled from all over the country to watch them wed on South Ponto Beach on clear skied day. They then partied the night away at the Seapointe Resort up the road. Congrats to this fun, loving couple!!
