Justine and Dave got to parade down the road with guitars, kazoos, and cowbells after saying “I do” outside of the Olivenhain Meeting Hall! Dave grew up right around the corner from the Meeting Hall, and had found memories of it from his childhood. He may never thought back in the day that this is where he would one day take a wife, but as the planning came together, it became the perfect place for such an event. Justine recalls how to two met, and realized there was something “more” there…
“Dave and I have known each other since 2010. We kinda knew each other from just being around the San Diego music scene. Dave played in a lot of bands & I would see him out and about a lot when I would go to shows. The day we consider our anniversary is the first time we had a real conversationĀ at a bar in February of 2011. Dave’s band was playing that night and I had dragged my friend out to Soda Bar. I was sitting at a booth with Kristen when Dave walked in. He came right up to me and said “Hey, I know you!” He told us some weird story about how he found a lost dog & returned it to the wrong owner and then we joked around about what we thought a sequel to the movie E.T. would be like. I remember as soon as he walked away I said to Kristen “Damn, now I have a crush on Dave.”
In Dave’s wedding vows, he actually recalled that first conversation about the “should be” sequel to E.T., or E.2. they called it. It was clear that they hit it off right away. *And the rest was history*.
The post-ceremony parade led right to Dave’s Dad’s house, with a live band, yummy mediterranean food, and of course a Pinball machine and Ms. PacMan. They partied all night, and friends and family gave multiple toasts to honor the new Mr. and Mrs.! Congrats to you both!
