While on my solo trip around Europe, I did have my mom join me for a few days. She happened to tag along during my time in Barcelona, and thought of a perfect activity we could do together; a cooking class! When I visited Thailand, one of the best memories I had was attending a cooking class in Chiang Mai. Food is the heart and soul of a country’s culture. There is so much to be learned from the history of a country’s cuisine, and the areas of the country certain dishes come from. I knew I wanted to take a least one cooking class while in Europe, and it happened to be in Barcelona! I was looking up a few online and came across Just Royal Bcn Cooking Class, where we had the option to talk a market tour in the Gothic Quarter of the city before the class, and then would be learning how to make a few tapas, as well as what I had been waiting for; paella!! We walked into the *beautiful* setup that chef Alfredo had for us. We then tasted tapas from all over the country, such as octopus, patatas bravas, garlic shrimp, manchego, and mussles. It was fun making our own dishes, and then we got to eat everything together as well! I’d HIGHLY recommend this cooking class for anyone visiting Barcelona in the future!
