You can’t really go wrong with a beautiful venue, a fun city, and an electric bride and groom, am I right!? These two brought some style to the New Orleans wedding held at The Monastery on the edge of the French Quarter. I’ve been excited for this one for awhile now. Calvin, who is also a wedding photographer, reached out to me over a year ago to photograph their engagement in Arizona, where we adventured into Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. I knew that if they were that enthusiastic about their engagement photos, I couldn’t wait to see what they’d have planned for their big day. Once I walked into the airbnb where Marilyn and her girls were getting ready, we were already off to a great start. First I saw the beautiful display of balloons by Up Up and Away decor, and then Marilyn showed me her dinosaur costume that she would be getting into for the first look, which obviously Calvin had no idea about).
Once we set up for the first look, and Marilyn came walking out behind Calvin in her dino suit, they day immediately started with a smile! Calvin cracked up, and helped her out of her suit, to reveal her “true” outfit for the day! The courtyard of the Monastery was decorated with florals and huge NOLA light sign. We then headed off to the church to get the two hitched! Father Tony Ricard started the ceremony with a *few* selfies of the crowd, and made sure Calvin got a few as well. The rest of the ceremony was beautiful and elegant. The two were pronounced husband and wife and we were ready to party!!!!
Everyone headed back over to The Monastery, all dressed to the nines! The black tie affair was stunning. Guests were treated to a plethora of sweets and food stations. Blucid Floral *nailed it* with the backdrops! The crowd danced the night away, and to finish the night, the Kinfolk Band came in for a second line around the venue! Marilyn and Calvin were treated to a sparkler exit and then hopped on to a pedi-cab into the night….CONGRATS AGAIN!!
