Pros and cons of a long engagement. Pro…the anticipation….Con….THE ANTICIPATION! But when the big day comes it is more than worth the wait. As was the case with these two! I love Emmy’s style, and there have been mulitple times we would message each other with “hey I have the same shoes!” and so on. I was also just so excited to hang out with them again on their wedding day! The couple met back east in college. They were actually set up! While Gavin was in the Naval Academy, Emmy was studying at Marymount University. For the Navy dance, Gavin asked his friends to suggest a great date for him. Enter Emmy. They met before the dance, and really hit it off. She went as his date, and the next day Gavin officially asked Emmy out.
Oh but it gets better. On their visit to Peru, the couple went to hike Machu Picchu. At the very top, over looking the beautiful ruins and llamas, Gavin got down on one knee and proposed to Emmy. The best part was that their friends and family were there for it too! It was out of a fairy tale.
For their wedding day, Emmy, a relaxed bride, slipped on her Bob Ross socks and blue converse, and went to go see her groom for the first time. Gavin turned around and had a HUGE smile on his face! They said “I do” in front of family and guests at the Estancia La Jolla, and then the party began. There was “pong” and “flip cup” with giant cups in the lawn, as well as corn-hole. The guests were served vegan appetizers, since the wedding was a all vegan wedding. Guests then welcomed the new Mr. and Mrs. and dined on some more vegan grub, including vegan donuts from Nomad’s! Yum! It was a lovely wedding and am so happy I got to play a part in it. Congrats again you two!!
