Talk about a love-story. These two go WAY back! All the way to high school! Lena tells of how they met: “Daniel and I are high school sweet hearts. We met our freshman year of high school. I was doing a history project with a classmate of mine and luckily she likes to procrastinate and decided to go watch Harry Potter-Prisoner of Azkaban instead. Daniel and his friends met my friend at the movies and that is where I met him for the very first time. ”
Ten years went by and Daniel knew it was finally time to propose. After staying together all throughout not only high school, but college (separate colleges at that!), this girl was clearly the One. Dedication is driving to see each other at their respective colleges every weekend! Lena recalls the night of the proposal: “We went to every single high school dance together such as homecoming, winter formal, prom etc. He was particularly fond of a certain dance we went to, which was winter formal our senior year of high school. He took me to the same restaurant that we had eaten at, Orange Hill. I had already had some suspicions that he was going to propose in the next few months, but I did not expect him to propose that very weekend (May 31, 2014). I just thought we were eating at a nice place for our monthlyversaries haha. I was really impatient that day and did not feel like walking around and wanted to go back home right after dinner. He insisted that we stay to watch the sunset. Unfortunately the sunset was covered in smog, which was really funny because he kept saying isnt the sunset nice? In my head, I thought he was crazy because all I saw was smog, but I just smiled and went with it. Later he had asked the waiter to take a photo of us behind the sunset, and while we were posing, he got on one knee and asked to marry me. The entire restaurant clapped for us and congratulated us. It was definitely the best day of my life so far!”
Lena and Daniel exchanged vows in front of family and friends, and their three pups!, at the San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. It was a hot day in late November, and a perfect wedding over all. Congrats to you both!!
