Here is to you, Dad

Today marks a special, celebratory day. A daughter is always proud of her Dad, especially for the little things like conquering learning how to do my hair as a child or making the best spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. But today I wanted to congratulate my Dad for his Presidential Inauguration at Millersville University. I remember it was EXACTLY a year ago when we were together as a family in Italy while my Dad was having Skype dates back in the States for the presidential interviews, and it is funny how things come full circle a year later as we gather again to watch him on stage for his inauguration. For all of your hard work Dad, you deserve it!! I love you!

Take a look at my “Presidential Portraits” I took of my Dad a few months ago when I went to Pennsylvania to see the new ‘home’ for the first time! My Dad told the school I was a photographer, and they said they needed new photographs of him for their database, so they hired me for the job! It is a strange feeling having your Dad as the client, but it was fun!

She’s going to the Chapel….

…and she’s…gonna get MAAARRRIIEEDD!!! I am SO happy for one of my good friends here in San Diego, Alex! Alex is getting married in less than a month to an amazing guy, Kris. Alex and Kris met in college and have been together for around 6 six years now. They define compatibility and hard work. While Kris is busy with work and finishing law school, Alex has been burying herself in the chaos that is planning a wedding! I know a few of the details of the big day, such as what the KILLER dress is going to look like! (Gahhh!!!), but have to wait until November 9th to see it all put together.

Thank you Erin, (and your mom!), for putting together such a fun afternoon for Alex’s Bridal shower. We filled our tummies with homemade french toast casserole, asparagus quiche, fruit salad, and bagels bagels bagels. In between the feasting, we were presented with a STOCKED bloody mary and mimosa bar. I was stuck on the grapefruit mimosas. It was a perfect day fit for celebrating a perfect couple. Congrats!

Alex - LOVE this, thank you Shelly! xoxo

Liberty Station Proposal!

When Adam asked me to help him propose to his girlfriend, Kristin, I could tell that this was a man with a plan, and I was right! Adam and Kristin are in LOVE, which if you ask me is pretty obvious from not knowing them for very long. Adam was sneaky behind Kristin’s back with his planning on asking her to marry him. He snuck onto her Pinterest page and noticed that one thing pinned was a comment of how she would love to have her proposal photographed. DONE.

Adam and I met up a week prior, and calculated the EXACT time the sun would be best on their “special spot”. Adam and Kristin often go to the Rock Church in Liberty Station, and sometimes will come to this spot to just sit and relax. Adam took his lady out for sushi on Saturday, and they strolled down to the grass, where Kristin didn’t think anything out of the ordinary…..yet. She then felt Adam’s heart start to RACE! After asking him a few times if he was alright, Adam then stood up, and Adam got down on one knee to ask Kristin to marry him. She said YES!

To celebrate, we made our way down to the Stone Brewery, but not before jumping into the fountain for a quick photo op! (Their idea, not mine! I promise!) Congrats to such an adorable, fun couple!

Uncle Jer - Beautifully done session Lady. Neat setup! I’m seeing maturity and and an eye for the moment that many never discover. Well Done! I’ll sneak a look every once in a while…
