Colette and Brian’s Griffith Observatory Engagement

ColetteBrianEngagementBlog-80

Colette and Brian are getting married! I drove up to meet these two in Los Angeles recently, and was curious as to how the recent fires north of LA would effect our shoot! Luckily they were far enough away so that we could go through with the engagement shoot, but the distant smoke did make the sky turn to a magnificent palette of pinks and blues for us! We drove up the hill to the famous and stunning Griffith Observatory and walked around the grounds. We then goofed around down below on some of the trails that provided a beautiful look out to their city. We ended the day back on top of the roof of the observatory for a fire red sunset, and watched as the slowly started to light up in the night sky down below. I can’t wait for these two to get hitched down in San Diego next summer!!

Ashley and Paul’s Wedding at Race and Religious in New Orleans

AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-207

And here is Part Two of the Epic Adventure of Ashley and Paul’s Wedding Celebration in New Orleans! These two know how to throw a party. But before the celebrating could commence, the pair shared vows amongst their family and friends. The day started very relaxed, as Ashley and her girls sipped on champagne and admired her GORGEOUS Berta wedding gown before she stepped into it. Then she walked downstairs to go see her groom for the first time. It was so sweet. I always love first looks, because the groom usually has NO idea what his bride will be wearing. Usually when the groom turns around, he gasps at his beautiful bride and tells her how gorgeous she looks. But when Ashley and Paul saw each other for the first time, tears started to gather in their eyes and huge smiles formed, and she immediately said to Paul, “I love you, I am so grateful for you”, as the hugged and laughed and smiled.

Guests started to arrive, and the ceremony began. Everyone listened as the two shared their own written vows. Paul let Ashley know that the first time he met her, he barely heard a word of what she said, because of how entranced he was. He knew she would be the one. The pair said “I do” and it was time to celebrate! They were later introduced as husband and wife and danced their first dance together as such surrounded by sparklers. The Phunky Monkeys killed it on stage, getting everyone on their feet for the entire night. The guests indulged in Melissa’s Fine Pastries enormous (and gorgeous!) cake, along with a gelato station. There was also a cigar room and a scotch room, and everyone mingled and partied around the pool and fireplaces all night long. Ashley and Paul had gigantic smiles on their faces the entire night. As I got ready to say good bye to the happy couple, Ashley said to me “This has been the best night of my entire life”….and I would totally agree with that! Congrats to Ashley and Paul!!!

Ashley and Paul’s Second Line Rehearsal Dinner in New Orleans

AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-53

Here is Part One of the epic weekend that Ashley and Paul invited their friends and family to join them in celebrating their marriage! The pair decided to tie the knot in New Orleans, for many reasons. Obviously, New Orleans has a certain charm about it that is undeniable, but mainly they picked this city because it holds a special place in their hearts! These two LOVE this city. Paul actually took Ashley to New Orleans early on in their dating stages, knowing that if she could handle this city and love it for it’s character, flavor, beauty, and charm, then she was the one. Of course, she loved New Orleans, and they have been visiting together ever since.

The “opening night” of their wedding weekend started with a masquerade dinner at the Elm’s Mansion, located in the Garden district.  Guests laughed along to a few roasts of the bride and groom to be, and then we all gathered into a few streetcars and headed to the French Quarter with a full brass band for a celebratory Second Line!!! We shut down the streets as we paraded through singing and dancing along to the band playing. Crowds formed around, and a few strangers tagged along to the joyful dance! The tour ended at The Swamp on Bourbon Street, where the wedding guests kept the party going. It was a lot of fun and excitement, but in reality, we hadn’t even seen the wedding dress yet! Stay tuned for Part Two of Ashley and Paul’s big wedding day, held at the stunning Race and Religious! AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-5AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-7AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-8AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-10AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-12AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-13AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-15AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-17AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-18AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-20AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-16AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-19AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-21AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-22AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-23AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-25AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-27AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-28AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-30AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-31AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-32AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-33AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-35AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-34AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-38AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-39AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-37AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-40AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-41AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-42AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-43AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-44AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-45AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-46AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-47AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-48AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-51AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-53AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-54AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-55AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-56AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-57AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-59AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-60AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-61AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-62AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-63AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-64AshleyPaulWeddingBlog-65
