Wahoo! They did it! The moments leading up to their ceremony, Vicki kept saying “I can’t believe it’s finally here!” A day they had been waiting for, and it went perfectly. Vicki and Briley have known true love for years now, but were excited to make it official with friends and family. They really are just happy people, which is why they are the perfect match! When they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day, they were smiling ear to ear. Then when we met up with the rest of the bridal party, the smiles got bigger. They love their friends so much, and their happy energy just gets passed along to everyone they meet. They said “I do” under the gazebo at the Pala Mesa Resort, and then it was party time! These guys known how to dance! Congrats to you both!
Yay!! This is a special one to me!! My cousin, my ONLY cousin, is married! Erin and Michael have been together for 14 years. They’ve always known they would get married one day, that wasn’t the question. They were just doing it on their own time. They never felt a rush or a need to make a big festivity out of it. Erin DID always have a dream to get married in Scotland though, since she if half Scottish! A year ago I told Erin that I was planning on doing a Eurotrip during the summer of 2017. Then an idea clicked! She asked Michael if he wanted to elope in Scotland that summer. Yep!
It was simple, they would combine their honeymoon and their wedding into one, and I’d meet them in Edinburgh and we would all drive out to the Isle of Skye to get them hitched! On the way there, we picked up her family’s tartan, a hand fastening ribbon, and a bouquet and boutonniere out of Scottish thistle. We feasted the night before and drank some Scottish whiskey. The following morning was the big day. And it wasn’t raining! We met Chloe, Erin and Michael’s officiant, and started the ceremony. It was so amazing hearing the words and poems chosen to solidify their relationship, and I was so honored to be there for it. All of us were getting a bit choked up, and that is when the midge’s started swarming around us! Erin was swatting them away from Michael and we all had a good laugh. They exchanged rings, (and I got to be the ring bearer! Hehehe!), and made it official! They sealed it with a kiss, and now they are husband and wife.
We then got in the car to do some photo scouting. Honestly, you can’t really find a bad spot on the Isle of Skye for photos, that was not our problem. Our problem was those swarms of midges! Swatting away bugs isn’t glamorous, but if it is the worst thing to happen on your wedding day, I’ll take it. The Scottish countryside is breathtaking. We really enjoyed just walking around the muddy and marshy back roads. I’m SO honored to have played a part in Erin and Michael’s special day. I love you both!!!!
Beautiful, Shell, my photographic and Uncle hats are off to you! Breathtaking, insightful, professional to the max. Thank you…

Whitney and Stacy are getting married! I was so happy to catch up with these two while visiting friends and family back east! Whitney was my neighbor growing up, so she has literally known me since I was born. I got to finally meet Stacy about a year ago at my sister’s bachelorette party, and saw the connection she and Whitney had right away. When I saw Whitney again at my sister’s wedding a few months ago, Whitney actually let me know she was planning on proposing! She did a few months later, and Stacy immediately said yes! We met up at the City Beer Hall in downtown Albany, where the two actually went after their proposal to celebrate with friends. It was a perfect summer day, so after the Beer Hall we went to Thacher State Park to wander around the woods. These two are so much fun and have so much energy between them!! Congrats to you both!! 🙂
