Lindsey and Devin got married! Their intimate ceremony and reception was everything they had envisioned for their special day. Since they both grew up, met, and currently live in Las Vegas, they both knew they wanted to tie the knot somewhere else. While scouting around, they eventually made their way out to Rancho Palos Verdes and the Wayfarer’s Chapel. They knew right away it was “the one”. This glass chapel is quite the sight! After they said I do, (and a few very happy tears), they made their way over to the Village Gardens with close friends and family. This intimate setting was fun and relaxed, and some big hits of the evening were the unicorn cake pops, the henna tattoo station, and s’mores fire pit! A few days after their wedding, the pair flew off to Southeast Asia for a summer long honeymoon! So jealous! Congrats to you both!
Justine and Dave got to parade down the road with guitars, kazoos, and cowbells after saying “I do” outside of the Olivenhain Meeting Hall! Dave grew up right around the corner from the Meeting Hall, and had found memories of it from his childhood. He may never thought back in the day that this is where he would one day take a wife, but as the planning came together, it became the perfect place for such an event. Justine recalls how to two met, and realized there was something “more” there…
“Dave and I have known each other since 2010. We kinda knew each other from just being around the San Diego music scene. Dave played in a lot of bands & I would see him out and about a lot when I would go to shows. The day we consider our anniversary is the first time we had a real conversation at a bar in February of 2011. Dave’s band was playing that night and I had dragged my friend out to Soda Bar. I was sitting at a booth with Kristen when Dave walked in. He came right up to me and said “Hey, I know you!” He told us some weird story about how he found a lost dog & returned it to the wrong owner and then we joked around about what we thought a sequel to the movie E.T. would be like. I remember as soon as he walked away I said to Kristen “Damn, now I have a crush on Dave.”
In Dave’s wedding vows, he actually recalled that first conversation about the “should be” sequel to E.T., or E.2. they called it. It was clear that they hit it off right away. *And the rest was history*.
The post-ceremony parade led right to Dave’s Dad’s house, with a live band, yummy mediterranean food, and of course a Pinball machine and Ms. PacMan. They partied all night, and friends and family gave multiple toasts to honor the new Mr. and Mrs.! Congrats to you both!
Piper celebrated her 9th birthday in style! She hosted a luau for all of her friends, and as always, asked to have her presents donated to help the kids in Japan! Guests sipped on pina coladas and played in the pool while an entire pig roasted for lunch. The grand finale of the day was the hula and fire dancers! Happy birthday Pipes!
