Val and Ryan are getting married! These two have an adorable story of fate for how they met. Valerie moved in with Ryan’s sister and they became friends very quickly. Ryan and his sister are close friends, so Valerie met Ryan soon after she moved in when he was at the house. Valerie and Ryan soon became friends and the three of them, plus a few more friends began spending most of their free time together. They soon realized that they were a perfect fit for each other and started dating! Flash forward to New Year’s Day 2014.  Val tells the story of how Ryan proposed: ” Heather (Ryan’s sister) hosted a New Year’s Eve party at her house.. The theme was pajama jam, so we were all dressed in onesies. Most of our closest friends, Ryan’s sister, and my younger sister were there. A moment before midnight, Ryan headed to the bathroom to get the ring out of his pocket (he was wearing jeans under his onesie, so it was a bit complicated. He was still fumbling with the ring at midnight when the ball dropped, so when he finally emerged from the bathroom, sad that I didn’t have a midnight kiss, I yelled at him (not too loudly, though) for choosing such a bad time to go the restroom. Ryan dropped to one knee and held out the gorgeous antique ring (he and I picked it out together). I said “are you serious?” and started crying. Ryan’s mind went blank, speech completely forgotten, and stared at me for a full minute before asking if he could put the ring on my finger. My response: “You have to ask me to marry you first.” Ryan asked, then hugged everyone, then, went out back where the quiet and cold air refreshed Ryan’s memory and he told me what he’d planned to say.” Sounds like a memorable New Year’s to me!
