What to wear for a photo shoot

Here are some helpful tips on what I suggest to my clients to wear to their photo sessions!!

1) Stay away from distracting/small patterns

2) DO wear bold colors and bold patterns

3) Try to avoid being “match-matchy”

4) Create a consistant color scheme throughout everyone’s outfits

5) Avoid shiny materials

6) BE YOU!

Summer is on it’s way!

When you live in Southern California, people assume you live on a permanent holiday. Since living here for 4 years now, I must admit that I HAVE acclimated to this “cold” season of winter, and am just as excited as anyone else when that first “warm” weekend comes of the year! Which was this past weekend! The Buchholtz family played it right when we scheduled our family session together. It was 80 and not a cloud in the sky all weekend, which means that NO ONE is unhappy. I’m not sure if it was the great weather, or if this family literally IS that happy all the time, (I’m sure the latter), but it was truly a great pleasure getting to know them in the patio of their backyard.

A Black and White Affair!

AntheaChris-19Even though Anthea and Chris had a small wedding ceremony a few months back, they decided their friends and family would appreciate another celebration! (Hey, any excuse to get back into that amazing dress!) They held a “black and white” attire wedding reception at Marina Village on Mission Bay this past Valentine’s Day. Right as we were about to take photos, the perfect 80 degree sunny day decided to take an interesting turn and had the thick fog roll in over the water. The mood was pretty romantic!

And nothing says I Love You like a donut bar right!? The laid back couple, (or I should say…”lei’ed back”), set up almost the entire event by themselves. They made sure to keep every either DIY, or local. It was a perfect Valentine’s Day!!
